Plan B, 55 Parnie Street, Glasgow - 0141 237 1137. Dr Mary Talbot introduces her graphic novel, Dotter of her Father’s Eyes. Part personal history, part biography, it contrasts two coming-of-age narratives: that of Lucia, the daughter of James Joyce, and her own. Followed by a Q & A with Mary and Bryan Talbot, who illustrated the book and a signing session.

Wednesday July 18th 2012; here's a photo of Bryan getting awarded his second honorary Doctorate - and seeing as he is now a "double doctor" a certain fellow comic artist and author of our acquaintance - stop trying to sneak out the back there Al Davison, you're not going anywhere! - decided to Photoshop Bryan into, well - the Doctor!

Monday July 16th: On Tuesday 17th July, Bryan will be presented by an honorary Doctorate of Letters for his body of work by Northumbria University at their annual degree ceremony in Newcastle. He already is an honorary Doctor of Arts, having received it four years ago from Sunderland University, making him the first British comic creator to be awarded a doctorate twice.
