A girl dressed as Billie at the Lakes Comics Festival

I just got back from the Lakes International Comics festival - and I have to say I am absolutely stunned at how good it was - not because I was expecting anything less than an excellent festival if Bryan was involved - but because it was even better than I imagined!

I caught up with a lot of old friends at the festival, and also made new ones - and I even got a Fabulous Furry Freak brothers compendium edition signed by Gilbert Shelton himself!

Even the kids had events to attend and enjoy - comics writing workshops for the older one and Peppa Pig readings for the younger one.

The whole of Kendal town centre seemed to be taken over for the festival: even the ladies on reception dressed up as comics characters!

If you like comics and live in the UK or Europe (or even the US or Canada if finances permit) I will here and now recommend you come to the next one! Bryan and the other founders aim of creating a comics festival here in England that will rival the festivals in Europe has definitely been met - and exceeded!
